Hailing from Stockholm, all of the shoes in the Swedish Hasbeens range
are handmade exactly the same way they were in the 70s, in a small
factory made using ecologically prepared natural grain leather and
wooden soles with rubber grip.
The collection was inspired by ‘Anita’ who was rumoured to be the
hottest lady in all of southern Sweden in the 1970s - and her signature
piece was her high-heeled clogs.
In the summer of 2006, the girls from Swedish Hasbeens found the shoes
Anita wore (300 beautiful pairs of red, white and black clogs) in the
basement of an old clog factory in a neighbouring village and brought
them to Stockholm. Their mission is to continue to release quirky, fun
and practical shoes inspired by the ‘hasbeens’ that once ruled
the planet.

How are Swedish Hasbeens sustainable?
|
|
| The short answer is that they use natural production processes and
high-quality natural materials. A pair of Hasbeens can with the right
care also last you a lifetime and if you don’t give them to your kids
you can plant them and they will disappear.

** The wood - They only use Swedish alder wood and lime-tree that has been harvested and grown according to the regulations of the "Preservation of the Forests".
** The leather - They are one of
the very few manufacturers that only use chrome free natural grain
leather. The leather has been vegetable tanned without chromium and
colored using natural dyes.
** The rubber soles - Instead of PVC (plastic) they use natural rubber, which is a more environmentally friendly alternative.
** The production – They are hand-made according to old manufacturing processes that are good to people and nature.
