IVANAhelsinki is a Finnish fashion label known for its ethically
handmade avant-garde prints. This up-and-coming label is also at the
forefront of the
slow design movement coming out of
Scandinavia. The label's work, style and spirit is a great inspiration
and an icon in the
Fennofolk tradition. Everything they make is done with great care and
thought, utilizing local resources such as employing skilled
handiworkers.
In the words of designer Paola Suhonen herself, "IVANAhelsinki is an
independent art & fashion brand, bringing delicately together
Slavic melancholy and pure Scandinavian moods. It is a balancing
between white arctic summer nights and endless winter sadness. Eerie
hovering isolation and intense starkness."
Each collection is like a ballad, with its own theme and background story. This winter we feature the "Star Rain" collection.
IVANAhelsinki has just opened its first NY store, and to date has been
the only Scandinavian women’s wear brand ever to be accepted to the
official Paris Fashion Week “IN” Show calendar.
